Register for Classes

Prior to registration opportunities each semester you will receive an e-mail from the University Registrar's Office. All eligible students (new and continuing) receive Electronic Personal Data (EPD) information prior to each registration period. Registration access window and faculty advisor information is included in this information. It is critical that you have an e-mail address on file with the University that you check regularly.

In order to register you will need your University ID number, your 6 digit University PIN, and your Semester Advising Code.

Registering for classes at UNCG is done primarily via the Web. UNCGenie offers self service registration online. Students can register for courses in which space is available and restrictions do not prevent them from registering. If you are unable to register for a course due to the course being full or having restrictions you will need to contact the instructor and get either an "Online Overide/Overload" or get the instructor to complete and sign a Drop/Add form.

Instructor Online Overides: Once the instructor completes the "Online Overide/Overload" you MUST log back into the Registration system and actually register for the course.
Faculty instructions for Online Overides/Overloads.

Drop/Add Forms: Drop/Add forms are available from the University Registrar's Office and selected School/Departmental advising offices. Signed and completed forms may be processed by the University Registrar's Office or certain School Advising Centers.

Note: If you are not a current or newly admitted UNCG student and are selecting distance learning, off-campus, or extension courses with section numbers 80-99 or campus code "D" or "X" you must register through the Division of Continual Learning. If you are already a UNCG student you should be able to register for such courses via UNCGenie.
