Becoming familiar with the UNCG campus and community is a vital part of being a student. The best way to start your UNCG career is by attending an Orientation program. UNCG offers a variety of orientation programs for Freshmen, Adult and Transfer Students, Parents/Family Members, Graduate Students and International Students.
Also in the Fall semester UNCG conducts the Spartan Welcome Weekend just before the first day of classes. This fun filled series of events leads up to Fall Kick Off, a fun filled street fair showcasing a variety of campus services and student groups.
Freshmen: Spartan Orientation Advising and Registration (SOAR) is sponsored by the Office of Orientation. For students who are entering UNCG in the Fall semester* there are seven two-day summer sessions and an August make up session. These sessions provide an opportunity to take placement exams, learn about campus services, meet with an advisor, register for classes and get a UNCG First Card ID. [ More Information ]
