Graduate!

As you get to your last two semesters at UNCG you need to apply to graduate. It is your responsibility to apply to graduate by the appropriate deadlines. Undergraduates are encouraged to request a degree audit before pre-registration for their last semester to ensure they can take the appropriate courses to finish their degree. Undergraduates intending to graduate in May should request a Degree Audit in September. Those intending to graduate in August should request a Degree Audit in February.

UNCG hosts two Commencement Ceremonies, one in May for Spring Graduates and another in December for Summer and Fall Graduates. In addition, Schools or academic departments may host their own ceremonies during the Spring.

Steps to Graduation:

  • Apply to graduate using the online form by the appropriate deadline.
  • Pay your Graduation Fee no later than 30 days prior to Graduation. (Undergraduates pay in the Cashiers Office, Graduate Students pay at the Graduate School.)
  • Attend the Graduation Celebration sponsored by the Alumni Association.
  • Order Caps and Gowns at the Campus Bookstore by deadline.
  • RSVP for Commencement Ceremony by deadline.
  • Finish all work for the semester and take Final Exams.
  • Pay any outstanding balances owed UNCG at the Cashiers Office.
  • Attend Commemencement and School/Departmental ceremonies (Spring Only).
  • Your diploma will be mailed to you at the address provided on your Degree Application.
