UNCG offers federal, state and University funded need based financial aid in the form of grants, loans and work study to qualifying degree seeking undergraduate and graduate students. Non-need based funds are available through the Merit Awards Program, Scholarships and Graduate Fellowship/Assistantships.
All students seeking need based aid are required to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) each academic year.
(UNCG's Federal School code is 002976).
Need based aid is awarded based on ability to pay as determined by the FAFSA and the student's "Cost of Attendance". Please review the Financial Aid Handbook for details on the Financial Aid process.
Aid at UNCG is administered through the Financial Aid Office, located at the intersection of Spring Garden and Kenilworth streets. Students who are awarded loans through UNCG must complete and return a loan application for each type of loan after they are awarded. This must be done in order for you to receive aid and to use the loan to defer payment of your bill.
Federal Work Study is awarded through the Financial Aid Office. Students awarded Work Study must find a job via the SpartanTRAK job listing Service, managed by the Student Employment Office.
The Graduate School awards Fellowships and Assistantships to qualifying graduate students based on the recommendation of academic departments.
