Success in college is based not only on your personal ability and efforts but your willingness to seek help when you need it. UNCG offers a number of resources to help students with their academics.
General tutoring at UNCG is coordinated by the Student Success Center. Through the Learning Assistance Center free individual and walk-in tutoring is available in a number of 100 and 200 level courses. Through Special Support Services, students who meet eligibility requirements may receive free of charge tutoring, counseling and additional services.
Some academic departments offer tutoring outside of the Student Success Center. See the Resources listed below. If a specific department is not listed contact the departmental office or your instructor about tutoring availability in that particular subject area.
If you need help with your writing the Writing Center offers assistance with writing skills and draft review.
For students with disabilities the Office of Disability Services coordinates services including interpreters for the hearing impaired, testing accommodations, and assistance for mobility impaired students. Click here for a complete list of services available.
Jackson Library offers subject area resource collections including library course guides for virtually all subject areas taught at UNCG. Also available online is Jackson Library's research skills tutorial "First Steps" to help guide you through using the materials available via Jackson Library. At the beginning of each semester Library Orientation Tours and other classes on how to use the Library are offered.
